The Juniper EX4300-FAN-AFI is a specialized cooling module designed specifically for the Juniper EX4300 line of Ethernet switches. This unit features Back-to-Front airflow, also known as Airflow In (AFI), which draws cool air from the rear of the chassis (the FRU side) and exhausts hot air through the front port side. This airflow direction is critical for data center configurations where the switch ports face the hot aisle or where specific rack cooling dynamics require rear-intake cooling. As a hot-swappable Field Replaceable Unit (FRU), this fan module allows IT administrators to replace or upgrade cooling components without powering down the switch, ensuring zero downtime for mission-critical networks. It works in tandem with the switch's power supplies to maintain optimal operating temperatures, preventing hardware throttling and extending the lifespan of the equipment.
